The Planning
and Development Services program is designed to assist
our member governments with their daily activities encompassing
a broad range of issues from planning and land use to personnel
policies. The key for this program's success lies in the experience
of staff and their service minded approach to solving local
government problems on the local level.
Councils
of Government have historically been the first lines of defense
that local government leaders rely on because they are by
design an extension of those they serve. Unlike most private
sector consultants, COGs are comprised of local government
professionals who have "been there" and understand
the complexities and challenges unique to local officials.
