Your Cape Fear Council of Governments is now pleased to
offer support services for Geographic Information Systems
(GIS) applications to your Town or County. Like the field
of GIS itself, our services are expanding and evolving
to offer quality mapping project products and provide
assistance that will best suit the needs of your local
government. Mapping services and GIS data formulation
are available and can be customized to each local government.
So let us know today if we can help you better understand
and interpret the geography and spatial relationships
that exist in you r local government and surrounding areas.
The Cape Fear Council of Governments GIS staff has worked
on numerous mapping projects and services, including:

Mitigation mapping for Columbus County, Belville (Brunswick)
, Boiling Spring Lakes (Brunswick), Carolina Beach (New
Hanover), Chadbourn (Columbus), Holden Beach (Brunswick),
Lake Waccamaw (Columbus),. Ocean Isle Beach (Brunswick),
Shallotte (Brunswick), Southport (Brunswick), and Tabor
City (Columbus).

thematic mapping using Census housing, population and
income data for the planned siting of a Youth Development
Center in the Four County area.

Demographic
thematic mapping of Low to Moderate Income and Minority
Concentrations in Pender and Columbus Counties for Community
Development Block Grant (CDBG) programs.

thematic mapping of Pender County Highway 17 corridor
using aerial photos, real estate values, minority concentrations,
existing structure data, income, and wetland data to establish
a project area for a CDBG Concentrated needs application.
